May Event Dressing: One Dress, Three Ways

It's all started. The slew of May events. Baccalaureates. Graduations. The parties. The weddings. The showers. What a fun time! That is, if you're not worried about and fussing over what to wear. I'm notorious for wearing the same outfit over and over, but this hardly gets noticed because I'm pretty good at swapping out accessories so it looks like a new outfit each time.
Dolls. Grab that pretty dress in your favorite color that you have hanging in the closet, and wear it this month as much as you can.
Here is one dress, three ways.
1. Fancy-shmancy for a dressy party
When it's time to dazzle and delight your hosts and their other guests, you bring it. The dress. The jewelry. The sparkle.
For my pink jersey dress, I'll swap out accessories to make it suit the occasion. The dressiest event merits cascading pearls, big, dangling earrings, a sparkly clutch and dressy heels.
Ladies, you do not have to wear hose. And, in fact, do not wear hose if you are wearing peeptoe shoes. You can, however, wear hose with a close toe/ankle strap shoe. But totally not necessary unless your venue requires it.
Because my dress is loud and my jewelry is big, I didn't introduce a lot of other color.
2. Cool and comfortable for a more casual event, like a daytime shower or outdoor graduation
The thing about dresses is that it's one and done. And mine has an attached slip so I really don't have to mess with anything. For a similar dress, try this one. Shop more great dresses inside the May Style Vault!
If you'll be outdoors, you may want a hat for sun protection, but be sure you're not blocking anyone's view of their pride and joy (and life savings) walking the graduation line. Wedges are also a must so you don't sink into the grass.
My jewelry is much more casual. Because it's simpler, I added a tiny bit of color. It's easier to wear brighter colors together in the summertime when the light is stronger and you've gotten a little more sun (although I am still pretty pasty).
You can see that a faint touch of turquoise looks great against the pink dress.

3. Low-casual for a girls' luncheon or easy dinner
It's all about the denim jacket and wearing flats.
Espadrilles are going to lend any outfit an air of ease and comfort.
Put a denim jacket over a fancy dress and voila it's super casz now!
