Will The 2016 Color Of The Year Look Good On You?

Tina, here.

Color me happy. Have you heard? The new Pantone Color of the Year is, ... drumroll….. Rose Quartz. And this is spectacular news because, guess what, this blush pink tone looks good on EVERYone!

Rose Quartz: 2016 Color Of The Year

If you've been with us for a while, you may have some of this flattering color in your closet already. I've been a fan of blush pink for quite some time due to its skin-brightening benefits.

I want you dolls to be the first wearing it and getting all those lovely compliments from strangers and friends alike, like, “Oh, your skin looks so fresh and dewy!” and, “My, you look 10 years younger!” because, that my dears, is what wearing rose quartz will get you. Wear it next to your face for that skin-brightening little flush it gives, and watch the world fall in love with you.

Here is how to wear the 2016 Color Of The Year, Rose Quartz. And the companion color of the year, Serenity.

1. Wear Rose Quartz with warm, pale neutrals.

I am wearing my rosy blush silk blouse with an ivory leather jacket and mushroom-colored suede pants. I feel like a Ladurée macaron.

I kept even my jewelry complimentary to the warm palette, with a brown tassel necklace.

I'm not wearing any pattern except for my little ocelot flats. Kind of the exclamation on the point.

The rosy blush blouse I featured as one of January's must-haves inside the Style Vault has by far been one of the most popular items ever featured in the Style Vault! Join now to get one yourself!

2. Wear Rose Quartz with soft, cool tones. You can even wear it on your bottom half or choose an accessory like earrings.

If you're not a "pink girl" rose quartz is perfect for you because it doesn't read like Little Girl Pink. It reads more like her grown-up sister, Elegant Lady Pink. Who runs corporations and gets you know what done.

But if you still don't want to wear a pink top, wear blush-tone pants, or, better yet and easier to find, rosy pink earrings or a pale blush scarf to give you that glow.

My blush pants are Michael Kors from about 5 or 6 years ago, but I found a couple similar gorgeous pairs in this color and just added them to the Style Vault. If you're not a member and want to shop my finds, including a beautiful shell pink blouse, join today!

 3. Wear a faint shade of blush, that almost reads like a sophisticated ivory, with just a touch of rose in it.

I'm not trying to put you on a wild goose chase for rare shades of rose quartz and blush pink. Almost every shade you see out there will be flattering to you and brighten your skin. But I know there are lots of non-pink wearing fashionistas out there, so I want you to feel included in the trendy color scene, too!

My rose jacket is a faint, faint palest of pink jacket that I wear ALL the time. It goes with everything. That's another reason I love rose quartz. You can wear it with warm neutrals or cool tones, too, like my faded blue jeans, which actually are close to the companion color of the year, Serenity.

Here you can see why the color scientists decided to add a complimentary color of the year to Rose Quartz. Cool Serenity blue, like the color of my perfectly faded jeans, looks so fresh and bright against pale rose.

4. Serenity Blue must have been second runner up to Rose Quartz, cause it's also the companion Color Of The Year. And looks good on everyone.

Winterize your pale aqua blue's with a bit of fur and some tall boots.

Like shades of pale rosy pink, pale shades of aqua blue look great with warm greys and ivory.

This cool shade of blue will look good against your face, too. Maybe this spring in a linen blouse or lightweight sweater. I'll be providing lots of rose quartz and serenity blue options in the upcoming Style Vaults, so keep watching!

Wear your rosy shades now with grey wool pants or a black pencil skirt, or with jeans. Come spring and summer, I’ll have you wearing it with white jeans and linen or cotton pants. Just wear it and think of me when people are swooning all around you because of your soft, rosy glow.
